Take it from my parents!

When my mom and dad were in the United States last year, they call me at least thrice a week. Checking up on our business, maintenance of the house and personal matters were mostly the topics that we talk about. One of our conversations over the phone lasted for 3 hours. Yep, that is how long we talk on the phone. When the bill came, my parents went berserk due to the amount that they have to pay for their overseas calls. And because of that, they never used direct distance dialing again. Imagine, instead of spending those money on necessities, it went on the telephone company instead. Their call suddenly diminished from thrice a week to twice a month.
But because my mom and dad really wanted to keep in touch with me as often as possible, they looked for alternative ways in contacting us. One trick that they learned in saving money on phone calls was buying a phone card, instead of using direct distance dialing service. Phone cards or international calling cards are cheaper and economical compared to international and domestic long distance calls because their rates are much lower than post paid services like AT&T, MCI etc. My mom and dad usually buy phone cards from PinShark.com, one of the largest cheap prepaid phone card retailers in the long distance industry. They offer customers a wide variety of cheap phone cards and offer big discounts every month on selected calls. You can also compare prices with other retailers and you will see that their cards are the cheapest in the market.
So from then on, the “thrice-a-week-call-routine” of my parents became a “five-times-a-week” habit. Actually, there were times that I beg them not to call again until the next week since I almost ran out of stories and things to tell. Thanks be to the cheap phone cards, my parents were able to save money, plus they always felt at home because those cheap phone cards made it possible for my parents to be at home away from home. With those cheap phone cards, you’ll never be bothered again by phone bills. Take it from my parents.
