Of borrowing money and torn friendships

1

A friend approached me regarding her recent problem. Her name is Coochie who works as a freelance consultant in Makati. Her payday is always a heyday because her salary alone can really support all her caprices and whim. One day when our common friend went with her during lunch break, Coochie fell in love with the bag (sorry I’m not really familiar with brands) that were on sale on a certain boutique. She noticed that the price of the bag was too expensive, yet she really has this compulsive behavior of buying stuff unexpectedly. So as usual, she bought the bag by borrowing some cash from our common friend. The problem started when this common friend of ours began to bad mouth Coochie behind her back and told everyone in our circle that she has no control of her expenditures. Coochie got mad and so, they made their separate ways. As of this writing, they still do not talk to each other.

I told Coochie that this always happens when your loan is very much publicized, that there is no more space for privacy. Of course knowing Coochie, she’s a very private person and always want her transactions confidential only to the involved parties.

When she asked me for advice, I said she should have gone to loan firms or company instead, that does not give you any headaches like our friend does. Professional and private loan firms are always worth trusting, given of course the guaranty that their quotes are reasonable. Like for an example in this website No Fax Payday Loans which I stumbled upon just recently. They approve loans within 24 hours, no paper works necessary, and is completely confidential. Plus they have free quotes for their customers. And the lender can contact you immediately as in within seconds. That is how fast and efficient loan firms can be now a days.

Just yesterday, when Coochie wired me in my home, she said she had enough of borrowing money from friends, but instead will go to a private loan firm that I suggested. I told her, “well good for you, you can always pay your debt on your payday”

Well I guess too much spending really needs reinforcement from other entities, lest, you will always end up having your friends lend you the money while your friendship torn apart.

Although Coochie should learn to live within her means, I think your other friend was out-of-line when she started spreading the news about Coochie’s uncontrolled spending habits.

When she agreed to lend the money, I believe it was understood that it was a private transaction between Coochie and her. If she could not keep quiet about this, she should just have not have lent the money after all.

I agree with you, if you really need to borrow money it is better you go to a lending company who are bounded by confidentiality agreements.

yeah that’s what exactly what we told her. That’s the reason why I seldom borrow money from friends. First of all I have no collateral to pay back my debt haha and second i’m not really comfortable inborrowing someone else’s money kahit pa maglakad akopauwi, di ako hihiram ng pera na sya namang kinaiinisan ng mga kaibiganko sa akin. alam mo brods, ako yung tao na pwede mo ako iwan ng walang pera sa buong maghapon, basta may gagawin lang ako at may pagkain sa ref ayos na. minsan nga nakakalimutan ko na kailangn pala ng pera kasi di na ako sanay humawak. hirap kasi ng bum haha
