Borrowed Time

19

Its funny how things that you planned did not turn out the way you want it to be. There are some things in life, which are left unsaid and left undone. But in pursuit of happiness and fulfillment, one always make sure that time passes without failure, without missing something that you must do in order to fulfill the dreams that you are aspiring for. But destiny, (and I believe that it is such), is a choice rather than fate. Fortunate accidents happen for a purpose but with faith and hope. Unfortunate series of events do occur but not as a punishment but a test of strength of faith. Many times I felt I was abandon by luck, feared that the ordeal will pursue throughout my lifetime… but I realize that anything is possible. Anything could happen. Anything can be done in faith!

I am turning thirty this year, and most of my age mates will feel the same, that time has run its course. It seems that I am already too old to achieve many things in life. People who knew me and are close to me would say that I am always in a hurry, always trying my best to beat time and run my life according to my own plans. But as experience has always taught me, it’s not our time but his. Avoiding being preachy, but it is the truth. Sometimes I bargain for time. Trying to extend deadlines, my plans in life and beating the odds by ruling out my own schedule. But as always, time is not an element to be contained nor be controlled. It is always in HIS time.

There was this email which was forwarded to me months ago about how we usually curse time when things are always slowed down by obstacles… traffic jam, unending queues, waiting for someone in eternal delay… etc… Nevertheless, it turns out; the delay in time is a redeeming quality to keep us from unfortunate events. The wisdom here is Patience. That HE knows whatis the best for us. I may say this today, but maybe tomorrow I would be sinning once again against patience. But the good thing is I know now the wisdom of time.

Our time is not ours in entirety. It only becomes our possession when the Lord destined it to be ours. Until time does not befriend us, we have to wait… for it is a borrowed time from the Lord. Cherish time, for it may be our last… tic-tac, tic-tac, the clock stops.
